“After travelling to Nicaragua on a medical mission trip this past spring break, I discovered my interest in global health and exploring new cultures. What stuck out to me the most was the kindness of the people I interacted with, and I realized that my time would be no better spent than in promoting better health for those who have difficulty accessing it. I look forward to gaining knowledge in maternal and child mortality and contributing to Save a Mother’s efforts.“
Ruba is currently a pre-medical student majoring in Early Childhood Development at the University of Texas. In addition, she is pursuing a program in public health to explore related international issues. Following medical school, Ruba plans to practice medicine in developing countries.
